Affirmation

In Uncategorized on August 24, 2009 at 2:52 pm

Being a true BITSian myself, I too laughed with my friends the first time I heard of this Audi Ragging, a tongue in cheek variation of the original term, the AUDI DEBATE. And being on stage on 22nd August actually made me realize that, all jokes apart, this event is in fact a debate. It is a chance to discuss my manifesto points with my BITSian friends and make them believe in my capabilities and give them the confidence to stand by my side with pride when they’re in front of that laptop into which they shall cast their vote.

It is for this reason that I am greatly indebted to the EC for coming up with an apology letter to me (which is attached here). This proves to me once again that the EC is comprised of mature people with high levels of integrity who aren’t caught up in the ruckus of the moment and are quick to act upon anything that might raise any eyebrows.

So…. Let’s make it clear…… VERY CLEAR….

Beginnings……

Well… lets get this started.

I’m Pravendra Singh Mahla and this is my official blog for the Students’ Union elections 2009. Over the next few days I’m going to talk about some of the  issues closest to my heart, about my dream for BITS and how you guys can help me realise it. It was a little over two years ago that i first entered the gates of this wonderful institution of ours and met the people who have stood by me through all this time. It was this immense sentiment of belonging, of feeling at home in this isolated hamlet that made me want to give something back to my friends and students. I contested and won the elections for hostel representative in Shankar Bhawan last year and spent the most cherished moments of my life interacting with BITSians and working for the students in my bhawan and for the Students’ Union. But i think I’m getting a little ahead of myself. We’ll talk about everything in detail over the next few days. In the meantime i hope you can check out my manifesto. My name is Pravendra Singh Mahla, contesting for the post of president of the Students’ Union, and i hope you can join me on this journey leading up to this years elections.
